My Favorite Small Kitchen Appliances

Small kitchen appliances have been a staple in my home since college. I have tried many different brands, and these are my top 5 tried and true list of favorite small kitchen appliances you will always find in my kitchen. The price of these items varies slightly but like all things if you are an avid cook the higher ticket items are definitely worth it.

While some of these items may be an added luxury to a kitchen, over the years I have noticed that these items have saved me time and money. These items can speed up the cooking and cleaning process and save me money by keeping me from eating out as often.

HERE IS THE LIST OF MY FAVORITE SMALL KITCHEN APPLIANCES

  1. Pressure Cooker: Instant Pot
  2. Air Fryer: Cosori
  3. Blender: Vitamix or Nutribullet
  4. Coffee Maker: Nespresso Vitro
  5. Stand Mixer: Kitchen Aid Mixer

Why These Items Are My Top 5 Favorite Small Kitchen Appliances

Pressure Cooker: Instant Pot

This is one of the BEST appliances for cooking things quickly. The instant pot is a pressure cooker that seals with steam pressure and cooks in half the time as other cooking methods. Some of my favorite things to make are rice, braised or stewed meats and soups. There are also a ton of extra functions such as slow cooking, yogurt making and sautéing.

Air Fryer: Cosori

While this appliance can be easily replicated in a convection oven with a wire rack, not all ovens have this option. I also don’t want to have to do extra dishes. The version that I have you can take out the drawer and put it on the top shelf of the dishwasher. The air fryer is a great appliance for reheating leftovers and getting that crispy fried texture without all of the extra oil. Some of my favorite things to make are chicken breast with or without breading, roasted vegetables and crispy potatoes.

Blender: Vitamix

Nutribullet

This is one appliance that was definitely a huge splurge for me. A blender is a basic kitchen appliance that most kitchens need, however a Vitamix is not essential. A Nutribullet or less expensive blender will work great as well. Although if you are using your blender for any kind of nut butters or nut milks you are going to have a very hard time getting the same consistency with a lower powered blender.

Coffee Maker: Nespresso Vertuo

Why I Love It:  This might rattle some feathers with all of the coffee aficionados out there. While I do love methods like cold brew, French press or pour over coffee, not everyone has the time or energy for that in the morning. For those of you who like a strong late in a fraction of the time this one’s for you. The Nespresso Vertuo with the Aeroccino milk frother is the best automated coffee machine I have tried.

Every morning before work I make myself an iced latte with double espresso and milk. My favorite pods are the Double Espresso Scuro and the Double Espresso Chiaro. There are many different kinds of pods for single espresso, coffee, iced coffee and many more.

Stand Mixer: Kitchen Aid

Another Great Version

This is one item that I knew my kitchen would not be complete without. If you do any type of baking, mixing, pasta, ice cream or meat grinding the kitchen aid is a one stop shop. I currently have the Kitchen aid pro. The original one works just as well and takes up less room in the kitchen. I love to make bread, pizza dough, cookies, cakes, pasta and hundreds of other items with my kitchen aid. If you are not much of a baker, then this might not be as essential for your kitchen. If you are an avid baker this is the number one mixer on the market for a reason.

The Kitchenaid stand mixers are strong and built to last. I got mine as a graduation gift from my parents and I know just like my mothers it will last me 20 plus years if taken care of.
